Valerie has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Canterbury and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business from the University of Auckland. She is also certified as a Food Safety Lead auditor in quality management systems, food safety management systems and management system auditing as well as leading management audit teams.
Valerie has over 20 years experience in Food Quality with technical and quality assurance roles for several of Australasia's largest food manufacturers in the snack foods, beverage, and dairy industries and also has experience working for a major European bakery.
In addition she has over 11 years experience auditing, in both New Zealand and overseas, in many industries including food and packaging manufacturing, storage and distribution centres. As company director, she leads a team of consultants specialising in Food Safety.
Valerie's expertise is working with various food industries to achieve Ministry for Primary Industries approved Food Safety and Risk Management Programmes; especially in developing and auditing HACCP based food safety programmes and ISO standards, developing health and safety programmes, and training.
